Diallylethanolamine is a molecule that is used as an organic solvent and polymerization initiator. It is also used in radiation-cured coatings and as the monomer in polyurethane resins. Diallylethanolamine is a precursor to polyvinylic compounds and fatty acid esters, which are used as surfactants, emulsifiers, and wetting agents. Diallylethanolamine can be obtained by reacting allyl alcohol with ammonia or by hydrolysis of diallylamine hydrochloride. It can also be prepared from fatty acids through hydrosilylation.
