Product Information
- Tolyltrimethoxysilane
Trimethoxy(p-tolyl)silane is a cross-linking agent that is used to modify polymers. It has been shown to be reactive with amines, alcohols, and ethers. Trimethoxy(p-tolyl)silane can also be used in the modification of silicone resins. This chemical has been shown to react with organic acids and aryl chlorides at low temperatures. Trimethoxy(p-tolyl)silane is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and ethanol. In addition, this chemical has been shown to have a viscosity of 0.65 cP at room temperature and a density of 1.4 g/mL. The use of this chemical in photoelectron microscopy was described by its cross-link density and activation energy for electron transfer from silicon to oxygen molecules.
