27-Hydroxymangiferolic acid is a natural product isolated from the leaves of the mangrove tree. It is a primary metabolite that has been shown to have cytotoxic and anti-proliferative effects on cancer cells in vitro. 27-Hydroxymangiferolic acid has also been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β). 27-Hydroxymangiferolic acid is used as a reference material for HPLC standards and analytical purposes.
