2-Hydroxychalcone is a growth factor that has been shown to inhibit proton release, which is responsible for chemical reactions. The carbonyl group of 2-Hydroxychalcone can react with the hydrochloric acid in stomach acid to form an intermediate compound and then react with hypoglycemic compounds to produce an insulin-sensitizing compound. This compound also inhibits the formation of cancer cells by inhibiting epidermal growth factor.
