Description:
Bpv(phen) is a phosphatase inhibitor that blocks the dephosphorylation of proteins. It has been shown to inhibit phosphatases in hl-60 cells and myocardial infarcts, which may be due to its ability to block the dephosphorylation of protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) and insulin receptor substrates. Bpv(phen) also has minimal toxicity in animals. This drug binds to tyrosine residues with high affinity and inhibits PTKs by competing with ATP for binding sites on PTKs.
