Description:
1-Acetonylpyridinium Chloride is a salt of pyridinium and chloride. It has been shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure in rats by enhancing the release of nitric oxide. The compound also inhibits the activity of x-ray diffraction and acts as an alkylating agent. 1-Acetonylpyridinium Chloride can be prepared by treating pyridine with acetyl chloride. This process produces the tautomeric form, which has been shown to have enhanced antihypertensive effects.
