2-Bromo-3-nitronaphthalene (2BN) is a carcinogen that causes cancer in animals. It is metabolized in the liver by the cytochrome P450 enzyme and excreted. The metabolic pathway of 2BN has been studied in rats, which showed that this chemical is metabolized to yield 2-bromo-3-nitrophenol and 3,4,5,6-tetrachloropyridine.
