Product Information
- Benzonitrile, 4-(2-aminoethoxy)-
4-(2-Aminoethoxy)benzonitrile is a cross-linking agent that reacts with oxygen to form a covalent bond. It is used in the synthesis of cross-linked polymers, which are insoluble in organic solvents and resistant to photochemical degradation. 4-(2-Aminoethoxy)benzonitrile can be used as a linker in the formation of colloidal stability, photocleavable and permeable micelles. This compound can also be used as a crosslinker for hydrophobic polymers. It has been shown to have an effect on gel permeation chromatography and hexafluoroisopropanol micelles. Photochemical reactions involving 4-(2-Aminoethoxy)benzonitrile lead to ring opening or transfer reactions. This compound is also known to cause DNA damage in vitro by inducing strand breaks or deletions when exposed to UV light or visible light.
