Description:
Vinylbenzene is a polymer that is used as a cross-linking agent in polyvinyl. It has also been used to make microcapsules with an acidic pH and as a stabilizer. Vinylbenzene has been shown to have an innovative use as a hydrogen peroxide scavenger. The vinyl group makes it highly reactive with hydrogen peroxide, which can be used for the removal of this compound from wastewater.
