Product Information
5-Amino-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxylic acid is a synthetic analogues of γ-aminobutyric acid. It is a reducing agent that can be used in chemistry to reduce esters and acrylic acid to the corresponding alcohols. 5-Amino-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to have conformational properties that are dependent on the presence of an adjacent substituent. This compound also expands when heated and can be used as an analogue of diisopropylethylamine. The stability of this compound increases with the addition of electron withdrawing group such as nitro or cyano groups.
