Rubelloside B is a guianensis-derived compound that has potent inhibitory activity against various techniques, including lipid peroxidation, cyclooxygenase, and lipoxygenase. Rubelloside B also has potent anti-inflammatory activities, as shown by its ability to inhibit the production of TNF-α and nitric oxide in LPS-activated macrophages. Rubelloside B is a caffeoyl derivative that has been studied for its potential to prevent hypertrophy. It inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which may be due to its ability to inhibit phosphodiesterase activity. Rubelloside B also inhibits DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
