Product Information

Name:
Iridium hexafluorophosphate
Description:

Iridium hexafluorophosphate is a molecule containing an iridium atom and six fluorines. It is used as a catalyst in organic chemistry. The structure of Ir(OEP)(Cl) has been determined by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent, and inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of inflammatory mediators. This drug also has been shown to bind to both protonated and unprotonated forms of dorzolamide hydrochloride, a molecule that is not soluble in water. The binding process takes place through the formation of hydrogen bonds between the carboxylic acid groups of dorzolamide hydrochloride and the hydroxyl groups on Ir(OEP)(Cl).
