Description:

Methyl 3-bromo-1H-indazole-6-carboxylate is a bile acid homeostasis activator that belongs to the class of small molecules. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antiobesity effects, which are mediated by the activation of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha. Methyl 3-bromo-1H-indazole-6-carboxylate has also been shown to be effective in reducing nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in a mouse model and is being developed as a treatment for NASH. The drug is currently under development by Janssen and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials.
