C-(2-Phenyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)-methylamine oxalate is an enzyme inhibitor that binds to the active site of the enzyme and inhibits its activity. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of methylamine by the liver cells, which may be related to its effects on fatty acid metabolism. C-(2-Phenyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)-methylamine oxalate also inhibits 5HT2 receptors and has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in vivo. This drug binds to these receptors and blocks the binding of serotonin, preventing inflammatory responses. The compound is effective at a pH between 6 and 7, with a higher affinity for acidic environments.
