1-Hydroxy-2-oxopomolic acid is a fatty acid that is found in the capitata and pomolic acid plant species. It has been shown to activate the leaves of the agrimonia, rhaphiolepis, and prosopis plants. 1-Hydroxy-2-oxopomolic acid also has regulatory effects on adipose cells, which can lead to increased fat burning. This compound can be used as an antiaging agent because it stimulates the proliferation of adipose cells and inhibits their differentiation. As a result, it increases the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL1β while inhibiting the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL10.
