Product Information
The β-alanine-chloride peptide is a high purity and potent inhibitor of the human α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7nAChR) with IC50 of 0.2 μM. It binds to the ligand binding site, but does not block the ion channel. The peptide has been shown to inhibit agonist-stimulated calcium flux in rat adrenal chromaffin cells and inhibits nicotine-induced release of catecholamines from these cells. The β-alanine-chloride peptide may be useful as a research tool for studying nAChRs in physiology and pharmacology, or as an experimental drug for the treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, and depression.
