Product Information

Name:
TG 100801
Description:

TG100801 is a novel antiviral that inhibits the replication of herpes simplex virus by binding to the viral thymidine kinase enzyme, thereby preventing the conversion of thymidine to dTMP. It has shown efficacy in many animal models of disease, including prevention of cardiac damage, choroidal neovascularization in an animal model of age-related macular degeneration, and proliferative diabetic retinopathy. TG100801 is a monoclonal antibody with a potent inhibitory effect on angiogenic factors and growth factors. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in culture and has been found to inhibit viral replication in human epithelial cells infected with herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). The drug's mechanism of action is by bypassing the need for viral protein synthesis. TG100801 is also a heterocycle compound.
