Product Information
NCT-502 is a putative small molecule that inhibits aerobic glycolysis in cancer cells. It functions by binding to the oxidoreductase domain of DHODH, the enzyme that catalyzes the first step in the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), and reducing its activity. This inhibits the conversion of glucose into ribose-5-phosphate and consequently blocks cellular proliferation. NCT-502 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mouse models, but is not active against normal cells. The drug has also been shown to increase ATP levels and induce metabolic reprogramming in cancer cells, leading to an improvement in metabolic efficiency.
