4-Cyclopropyl-2-fluoro-benzamide is a crystalline, anhydrous inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase that is used as a respiratory and antiinflammatory agent. This drug inhibits the conversion of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) to its inactive form, adenosine monophosphate. The inhibition of cAMP breakdown may lead to the formation of inflammatory mediators and bronchoconstriction. 4-Cyclopropyl-2-fluoro-benzamide has shown efficacy in treating autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematosus, myasthenia gravis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
