Product Information

Name:
2-(2,4-Difluorophenyl)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid
Controlled Product
Description:

2-(2,4-Difluorophenyl)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (DFTPA) is a peptide that belongs to the group of activators. It is used as a research tool to study protein interactions and receptor ligand binding. DFTPA binds to the ion channels in the cell membrane and blocks them, thereby inhibiting the flow of ions through them. This leads to an increase in intracellular calcium concentration, which creates a conformational change in the protein that activates it. DFTPA also inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting ribosomes from translating mRNA into proteins.
