Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Amitriptyline is metabolized by glucuronidation, which is catalyzed by β-glucuronidase. A solution of amitriptyline-d3 hydrochloride can be used to monitor the glucuronidation process.
