Product Information
Methyl isodrimeninol is a sesquiterpene that is extracted from the leaves of Lanceolata erythropoda. The extract has been shown to have gastroprotective effects against mucosal lesions, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis and increase the production of mucus. Methyl isodrimeninol also potently inhibits nitric oxide (NO) production in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS). This inhibition leads to an increase in levels of l-arginine methyl ester (LAME), which is a competitive inhibitor for NOS. Methyl isodrimeninol was found to have anti-inflammatory properties when tested on mice with colitis and showed no adverse side effects.
