2-(Trimethylsilyl)propanenitrile is a phosphorus pentoxide that can be synthesized from aluminium and dehydrating with methylate. It is used to synthesize covid-19 and emulsify amide and aldehydes. 2-(Trimethylsilyl)propanenitrile is also used as an additive in the production of polycarbonates. This product has been shown to be effective in preventing the formation of emulsions, which may be due to its ability to act as an emulsifying agent by binding to the surface of droplets of the oil phase.
