Description

2,2'-((4-Nitrophenyl)azanediyl)diethanol is a yellow liquid that is used as an extender in rubber and plastics. It has been used to increase the extensibility of polyurethanes. 2,2'-((4-Nitrophenyl)azanediyl)diethanol is not soluble in water but can be dissolved in propionic acid and other polar solvents. This compound does not react with isocyanates and is stable under both acid and alkaline conditions. Polyurethane products made with 2,2'-((4-nitrophenyl)azanediyl)diethanol have a tensile strength that is higher than those that do not contain this additive.
