2-(4-Bromobenzoyl)pyridine is a substituted oxime that is in the class of quaternary ammonium salts. It has two benzoyl groups as substituents. 2-(4-Bromobenzoyl)pyridine is an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds and can be used to make deoxygenation agents and cyclisation agents, such as 2-benzoylpyridine. This compound is also a precursor to quaternary ammonium salts, which are used in pharmaceuticals, water treatment chemicals, and cosmetics.
