3,7-Dimethyl-1-octen-3-ol is a natural compound that is found in the oils of a variety of plants. It can also react with functional groups such as hydroxyl or carbonyl groups, producing an analog that can be used for chromatographic methods. The optimum pH for this natural product is between 5 and 7.
