Triphenoxyvinylsilane is a reactive compound that can polymerize and crosslink with metal hydroxides such as zirconium oxide. It is used as a polymerization initiator for the synthesis of polymers and copolymers of hydrocarbons, fatty acids, and alkynes. Triphenoxyvinylsilane has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene, propylene, and butadiene. In addition to its role as a catalyst, triphenoxyvinylsilane is also used as an antireflection agent. It has a reactive functional group that bonds to silica particles to form an anti-reflection layer on the surface of optical devices like windows and lenses.
