Product Information
Naphthalen-2-yl diphenyl phosphate (NDP) is a metabolite of the organophosphate insecticide naphthalene diphosphate. NDP is used in research to study the metabolic pathway of environmental contaminants and pesticides, as well as to identify potential metabolites using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. The orbitrap instrument can be used to monitor the kinetics of NDP by detecting low molecular weight compounds that are difficult to analyze using other techniques. The metabolite NDP has been shown to be metabolized by epoxide hydrolase, which cleaves the epoxide group from NDP. This reaction is catalyzed by cytochrome P450 enzymes and generates an acyclic intermediate that can be detected using a quadrupole mass spectrometer.
