Description:

3-Butoxyphenol is a monomer that belongs to the class of acrylates. It is used in the production of polymers and plastics, and can be used as a cross-linker for polymers. 3-Butoxyphenol can also be used as a polymerization inhibitor or an accelerator, depending on the conditions. 3-Butoxyphenol has been shown to be effective at preventing fluoroquinolones from binding to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. This compound has been shown to have antiviral activity against Covid-19, which was responsible for the 2009 pandemic.
