Description:
1-(Trimethylsilyl)-1H-benzotriazole is a nucleophilic reagent that can be used in organic synthesis to produce nitro compounds. It reacts with nitrite ions, chloride ions, and glycosidic aldehydes to form the corresponding nitroso compound. 1-(Trimethylsilyl)-1H-benzotriazole also reacts with hexane or other aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons to form the corresponding silyl ether. The reaction products of 1-(Trimethylsilyl)-1H-benzotriazole are sensitive to light and air, so they must be stored under nitrogen or in an inert atmosphere such as argon or helium.
