Description:
5-Amino-2,3-dicyano-1,4-naphthoquinone is an aromatic compound that is used in the preparation of laser dyes. It has a complex tautomerism and can be classified as either an aminobenzoic acid or aminoquinone. The infrared absorption spectrum of 5-Amino-2,3-dicyano-1,4-naphthoquinone displays a strong absorption band at 1710 cm−1. This chemical is also used in the production of optical recording media and semiconductors and as an infrared dye for use in infrared spectroscopy.
