Product Information
Fargesin is a natural product that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Fargesin is an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and has been shown to reduce the inflammatory response in vivo. Fargesin binds to the active site of MMPs, preventing the proteolytic activity of these enzymes. Fargesin also inhibits intestinal inflammation by interfering with the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-10. This compound has been shown to be active against several bacteria, including Helicobacter pylori and Clostridium difficile, but not against fungi or viruses. The mechanism of action of Fargesin remains unknown.
