Product Information

Name:
8-Nitroquinoline-2-carbaldehyde
Description:

8-Nitroquinoline-2-carbaldehyde is a nitrogen containing organic compound. It can be synthesized by reductive amination of 8-hydroxyquinoline with nitrous acid, followed by metal ion reduction. 8-Nitroquinoline-2-carbaldehyde has been shown to form stable complexes with metal ions and ligands. This is due to the presence of nitro groups that are electron rich and can form stable complexes with metal ions. The stability of these complexes depends on the type of ligand or metal ion present in the complex, as well as the number of nitro groups present in the molecule. 8-Nitroquinoline-2-carbaldehyde has also been used in synthesizing macrocycles and cyclic compounds, such as triacetoxyborohydride.
