Trichostatic acid is a synthetic compound that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. Trichostatic acid can be synthesized from the extract of Etoac, which is a plant found in South America. This process involves an amide and allylation reaction followed by a cross-coupling reaction. Trichostatic acid also has the ability to inhibit growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus.
