Product Information
4-Methylestrone is a naturally occurring estrogen that can be synthesized in the laboratory. It is a protonated amide, which is formed by the addition of a hydroxyl group to the 4-position of estradiol. It is an estrogenic hormone and has been shown to have receptor binding activity that leads to estrogenic responses. Estrogen receptors are found in many tissues, including those of the breast, uterus, ovaries, skin, brain and bone. 4-Methylestrone can be detected by magnetic resonance analysis and can be quantified by various assays such as radioimmunoassay (RIA) or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
