Product Information
- trans-4-[4-(Dimethylamino)styryl]-1-methylpyridinium iodide
Trans-4-[4-(dimethylamino)styryl]-1-methylpyridinium iodide is a fluorescent probe that can be used as an analytical method for the evaluation of drug uptake in cells. Trans-4-[4-(dimethylamino)styryl]-1-methylpyridinium iodide is found to bind to dopamine and pyridinium cations, which are intracellular targets. It has been shown to be able to penetrate the cell membrane of tubule cells, renal proximal cells, and Caco-2 cells. This probe also stains dopamine neurons in neuro2a cells and acts as a transcription polymerase chain inhibitor on hemicyanine.
