Product Information

Name:
CYC116
Synonyms:
  • 2-Pyrimidinamine,4-(2-amino-4-methyl-5-thiazolyl)-N-[4-(4-morpholinyl)phenyl]-
  • Cyc116
Description:

CYC116 is a potent anticancer agent that belongs to the class of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors. CYC116 binds to the active site of MMP-2 and MMP-9, which are enzymes involved in the degradation of collagen and other extracellular matrix proteins. CYC116 also inhibits autophagy, which is the process by which cells recycle their own components. This inhibition leads to the accumulation of damaged organelles and protein aggregates, leading to cell death. CYC116 has been shown to be effective against human liver cells, hCT116 colon carcinoma cells, and human macrophages. CYC116 also inhibits drug transporters P-gp and MRP2, which may lead to increased uptake of this drug in tumor cells.
