Product Information

Synonyms:
  • 1H-Imidazole-2-acetic acid, 1-methyl-
Description:

(1-Methyl-1H-imidazol-2yl)-acetic acid is a water soluble amine that is used as a reagent for the detection of vitamin B3 in plant polyphenols. It has been shown to be an effective analytical method for wastewater treatment and can be used to identify the presence of histidine in dietary samples. This compound has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as il-17a and tnf-α, by inhibiting the activity of a receptor protein complex (IL-17A/TNFSF15) that regulates gene transcription. This inhibition prevents the production of inflammatory mediators and leads to anti-inflammatory effects.
