Tazobactam Related Compound A is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that belongs to the class of antibiotics. It has been shown to have synergistic antibiotic activity with ceftolozane, which is a novel cephalosporin antibiotic. Tazobactam Related Compound A inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins in the bacterial cell wall by competitive inhibition. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.
