Licorice-saponin H2 is a saponin that is extracted from glycyrrhiza species, which includes pallidiflora. It is used as a food additive, in particular for its anti-obesity effect. Licorice-saponin H2 also inhibits the synthesis of melanin and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. The chemical composition of licorice-saponin H2 is not well known, but it has been shown to contain oleanene and melanogenesis inhibitory activity.
