Product Information
1-Methyl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide is a complex molecule that is synthesised by the plant to protect against pathogenic fungi. It is an effective antifungal agent and resistant to many classes of antibiotics. 1-Methyl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide's antimicrobial activity has been shown in laboratory experiments against plant pathogenic fungi, including Aspergillus and Penicillium. This molecule is catalysed by hydroxylase, which produces phytoalexin, a chemical substance that protects plants from invading pathogens. The production of phytoalexin also requires fluorine and hydroxyl groups, which are both present in this molecule. The use of 1-methyl indole carboxamide as an antimicrobial agent may be sustainable due to its limited toxicity to humans and animals.
