Product Information
Substance P is a neuropeptide that belongs to the tachykinin family. It is found in the central and peripheral nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system. Substance P stimulates acetylcholine release from neurons, leading to contraction of smooth muscle and increased vascular permeability. Substance P has been shown to inhibit potassium channels in neuronal cells and activate calcium channels in other cells. This peptide has also been shown to be an activator of protein interactions, which may be due to its ability to bind with receptors on the cell surface.
