Product Information
Aglafoline is a potent antitumor agent that inhibits the synthesis of protein and DNA. It has a hydroxy group and two methoxy groups in its structure, which makes it an effective inhibitor of translation. Aglafoline also has significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells in a concentration-response curve. The protein target for aglafoline is not yet known, but it is speculated to be involved in the regulation of cell division or apoptosis. Aglafoline has been shown to have hemolytic activity and can cause hypertension at high doses.
