Product Information

Name:
Dinotefuran-desmethyl
Description:

Dinotefuran-desmethyl is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of microorganisms by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has been shown to be effective against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, as well as fungi, viruses, and parasites. Dinotefuran-desmethyl exhibits potent antibacterial activity against both methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates. This antibiotic binds to the penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cells walls by competitive inhibition, which prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.
