Product Information
AlkylFluor is a positron-emitting radionuclide made of an alkyl group and fluorine. The isotope has been shown to be useful in the diagnosis of heart disease and cancer. AlkylFluor is produced by coupling a fatty acid with a multigram amount of an organic solvent, such as chloroform. The radiolabeled fatty acid is then purified using preparative methods and injected into patients to diagnose heart disease or cancer.
