Product Information

Name:
CO 101244 hydrochloride
Synonyms:
  • Pd-174494
  • Co-101244
Description:

CO 101244 is a novel, potent, and selective inhibitor of the neuronal voltage-gated Na+ channel (NaV) that blocks action potentials and causes paralysis in animals. CO 101244 prevents the activation of NaVs by blocking the pore with a high affinity. The drug prevents neuronal death by inhibiting glutamate release from astrocytes and reduces inflammatory bowel disease in animal models. It also inhibits the migration of leukocytes to sites of inflammation and suppresses cytokine production. CO 101244 has been shown to be safe for human use when injected intramuscularly as a solution at doses up to 1 mg/kg. The compound is amide-based and can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly as an injection solution.
CO 101244 hydrochloride does not cross the blood-brain barrier, which makes it suitable for treating autoimmune diseases that affect the brain such as Infantile Idiopathic Arthritis.br>br>
