Product Information

Name:
Dichlororuthenium(II)
Description:

Dichlororuthenium(II) is a coordination complex with the chemical formula Cl2RuCl2. It is an efficient luminescent probe for the detection of chloride ions in aqueous solutions. Dichlororuthenium(II) has been used to detect the presence of chloride in many different types of solutions, including those containing imidazole derivatives and immobilized cells. This compound is also toxic to human liver cells and has shown high cytotoxicity against various cancer cell lines. The electronic interaction between dichlororuthenium(II) and x-rays has been studied by x-ray diffraction. The vibrational spectra of dichlororuthenium compounds have also been investigated using infrared spectroscopy. Dichlororuthenium compounds are useful in functional theory as models for ferrocene, which is a metallacycle with two cyclopentadienyl rings that share an edge atom. Electrochemical data
