Description:

6-[4-(tert-Butyl)phenoxy]pyridin-3-amine is a novel cancer drug that belongs to the class of drugs called microsatellite inhibitors. It inhibits DNA synthesis by binding to the estrogen receptor, which prevents the receptor from activating DNA synthesis and cell division. 6-[4-(tert-Butyl)phenoxy]pyridin-3-amine has been shown to be effective against paclitaxel-resistant tumor cells and may be useful in combination with other chemotherapy drugs such as doxorubicin or vincristine. This drug also causes genetic damage in cultured human myelodysplastic cells, but not in healthy human lymphocytes.
