Product Information

Name:
3,7-Dihydro-3-[3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propyn-1-yl]-1,7-dimethyl-8-(methylsulfonyl)-1H-purine-2,6-dione
Description:

3,7-Dihydro-3-[3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propyn-1-yl]-1,7-dimethyl-8-(methylsulfonyl)-1H-purine-2,6-dione is a small molecule that binds to the purinergic receptor P2X and inhibits the activity of ion channels. It is used as a research tool in cell biology and biochemistry for its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and ion channel activity. 3,7-Dihydro-3-[3-(3hydroxyphenyl)-2propyn-1yl]-1,7dimethyl8-(methylsulfonyl)-1Hpurine2,6dione is also an antagonist of the P2X receptor. This drug has been shown to bind to the extracellular loops of the receptor and act as an inhibitor. It does not activate this receptor but instead blocks it from becoming activated
