Product Information

Name:
1,4-Dibromo-2,5-divinylbenzene
Description:

1,4-Dibromo-2,5-divinylbenzene (1,4DBVB) is a polymer that can be used as a semiconductor material. It has been shown to have a high quantum efficiency and an electron mobility of approximately 10 cm2/Vs. When 1,4DBVB is doped with organic semicmetors such as 2-bromostyrene it becomes an organic semiconductor. The polymerization of 1,4DBVB can be carried out by both growth and radical polymerization methods. In growth polymerization the monomer reacts with itself to form long chains while in radical polymerization the monomer react with other molecules to form cross-linked polymers. This molecule has been shown to have a wide range of applications including solar cells and transistors.
